As SpaceX gets closer and closer to point-to-point orbital flights for paying customers — this may happen as soon as next year — it now appears to be looking into an entire passenger experience, including accommodation.

First snuffed out by Michael Sheetz who shared the news on Twitter, it looks like SpaceX is looking for a "Resort Development Manager" for its upcoming spaceport in Brownsville, Texas.

Hospitality and SpaceX

At SpaceX's Boca Chica site in Texas, you'll find the Starship spacecraft being built, which will be shuttling paying customers and cargo around the world via orbit.

It now looks like SpaceX is looking to build a spaceport near Boca Chica, in a move to provide end-to-end hospitality. The job ad was posted on SpaceX's website and points out that it's looking for someone to "oversee the development of SpaceX's first resort from inception to completion."

The job description includes overseeing the resort's design and construction, as well as acquiring all the appropriate work permits and regulatory approvals. If you want to be part of history, scrub up your CV and apply!

Just this year, SpaceX completed the world's first crewed astronaut launch from a commercial company. The feat falls directly in line to ensure SpaceX keeps sending astronauts to space, as well as regular humans. Paid customers would head up to space in the company's Dragon capsule, which just passed its certification process by sending NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley to the ISS in late May.

By looking at SpaceX's site, you can also see that Earth-to-Earth spaceflight is also on the cards, with the impressive aim of most long-distance flights being completed in under 30 minutes. Imagine flying from Bangkok to Dubai in 27 minutes, or Los Angeles to Toronto in 24 minutes!

But first, the spaceports need to be constructed, and seemingly its adjoining resorts.
